The most hilarious part for me...

... is:

"BEE AHH COO AZ"

Oh man, that's gold.

Adding the music with visuals really flushed out the sarcastic emotion in the original track. This is a truly wonderful testimony to the organic nature of amazing humour and talent (and the idiocy we love to hate) on Newgrounds.

Kudos!

Stellar.

Ha, I don't know why you're not 100% happy with it... but an artist is his own biggest critic right? Anyway, I was 100% happy with it, and it seems the vast majority of NG was too given your sweeping of the awards this week.

The animation was simple and quite effective. I enjoyed the white/yellow eyes and features on black characters, it's a style that has always resonated well with me. Keeping the visuals impressive while not over complicating them facilitated the viewer's ability to focus on the REAL magic of this flash, which was the story.

I say this as an aspiring writer myself: you nailed it. It's a classic framework with a beginning, middle and end, good character establishment and wonderful character development. There's the necessary conflict and resolution... all crammed into a few minute's time with no dialogue! The lack thereof is another stylistic element that I enjoy; it's always neat to see what people can do with imagery as opposed to written or spoken word.

And the music was fitting, the timing well executed. It wasn't boring and had a very medieval feel to it. Like a spooky village in an old English countryside with a haunted castled resting cancerously on the horizon... Huge props to Mr. Partridge, especially for whipping the score up in such a short time.

For all the violent and funny flashes on NG, it is very nice to view the occasional serious short (a collection which I've recommended this for and encourage others to do the same), especially one that was so well executed. Favourited; 5/5; 10/10.

Tremendous work fellas. You're both very talented.

Superb animation, subpar interaction.

Yeah: The pictures and visuals were splendid! Short, but very bold. I enjoyed the 'Flandrium' construction a lot.

However, you're missing a loading bar, which REALLY hurts the first impression. Impatient viewers can and will auto-blam that kind of thing, especially those with slower computers. That is the flash's major fault and should be remedied ASAP.

Also, you should have the URL to your audio actually link to your audio page at the end there. Just a small suggestion for smoothness and efficacy. Have it open a new tab on the viewer's browser.

einbiegel responds:

the problem is i do not know a thing about actionscript ... so i absolutely don't know how to make a 'loading' thing and a link..
So i ask now if someone wants to help me..
As soon as i know all these things i will remake this movie.
thanks for the review!

Flandr.

Simple, effective, humourous, a delight!

Oooh, you have an excellent... tutorial-type voice. Clean and clear!
The satire and humour are also well placed.

Also: Sweet, I got mentioned!

Excellent!

Wow, I didn't expect that!

It was so random, yet not in a gut-busting hilarious way, just... weird! The constant shapeshifting was a wonderful display of your ability to animate.

The music went along with what was happening rather well too.
Well done.

Wind hates that guy.

Tough luck for him, I guess.
Your flash was really simple; really well done.
Extreme animation isn't needed to tell a little story, even if the story is a little morbid. =)

The music was fitting for the scene, the tempo and beat changed as different things started to happen of stop.

Very good for its length.

Now that's what I call a music video.

Holy wow. Must address you each individually:

sqeezy: The FBF was practically flawless. It just flowed so well. Going first made it seem like you were somewhat of the "leader", without reading the Author's Comments or knowing the AH history. The clips connoted the main substance of the video, but that's a loose concept. You're good, I hope you know it, and I hope you keep at it.

-element-: Kudos as well, for the FBF talent. Your clips seemed to me to be more of a bridge between the actual content. But seeing how "content" in the context of this video is probably the worst term to use, I can't really justify my claims (like I said before, it's a loose concept). Either way, by no means do I mean to say the work was subpar. I loved every second.

Nanoko: The Japanese anime influence was what (obviously) set your work aside from the others. Your clips seemed to me to be the odd ones out in terms of style and in terms of the music. Which was good, because it still worked with the song but it was fresh at the same time. It made the rotary style of presenting the work much more defined, and I think that made the entire production better overall. Execellent work.

rilstix: Another astonishing FBF job. Coming up at the end, you concluded the artist loop. And to you go most of my humour points. While the other artists undoubtedly displayed the random craziness that was seemingly the theme, your random craziness appealed to me the most. You were like the goofy and quirky guy of the group, the one with the twitch in his eye and the tendency to make odd noises from time to time. And it was wicked.

In conclusion, one of the better flash music videos I have seen on this site in a very long time, when taking into account animation skill and concept. I hope to one day reach the skill level as artists such as yourselves. A job done damn well, guys, damn well.

P.S. - I like that song. =D

Absolutely stunning.

Like other reviewers have said: what a rare treat.

And it's true. Newgounds is known for its somewhat violent and controversial side, but every once in a while you get something beautiful and simple like this. The music was an amazing choice. The simple rotating graphics were so soothing and set the mood perfectly.

I really enjoyed it. It's been so long since I've seen a flash that relaxed and touched my like this one. Even the credits had a tone of sincerity and grace in them.

I wont bother trying to interpret it. Like any good song or poem, the individual perceptions can be endless.

Anyway, your work enchanted me so much that you got my top vote for the February Cash Prize. I wish you the best of luck.

BlackmarketKraig responds:

Thank you so much!

I'm in the middle of looking at the Feburary submissions myself... BOO for 56k! >:(

I have to agree that individual perceptions are varied for everything, and that is what makes art personal and unique. But I still like to hear what my cartoons mean to anyone who is willing to share.

Thanks for reviewing!

Fucking great.

Seriously, this takes the Madness Series genre to a whole new level.
Krinkels will be hard pressed to top this one.

The smoothness and the style was incredible. While not entirely orginal, it was still a treat to watch. Let me tell you, I very rarely use the 'Replay' option when looking at flash. But this one deserved it. The swordplay at the end was orgasmirific.

10 out of 10. Make more. Lots more.

Wonderful!

The CC will forever be a part of Newgrounds.
I can put up with shitty flash forever and ever, as long as something this well done comes along every now and then.

The music was perfect for the current, uh, speculations surrounding the CC nowadays. I hope you all make a speedy comeback.

<3 CC.

Canadian. Falling in love with writing for real this time. It's nice.
